Question to My Fellow Jews: How Can You Still Vote Democrat?

I am an American Jew. I’m part of a demographic that overwhelmingly votes Democrat. Three out of every four Jewish-Americans are Democrats. Most of my Jewish friends, family members, and neighbors are all Democrats. Yet, I will never understand the political loyalty of American Jews to a party that has devastatingly failed to stamp out rabid anti-Semitism within its highest ranks.

During World War II, anti-Semitism was rooted in fascism. Today, it has migrated from the far left to the mainstream left. American (liberal) Jews, in essence, suffer from Stockholm syndrome–they are hostages who have fallen in love with their captors.

American Jews voted overwhelmingly for President Barack Obama. Obama, the darling of Jewish (liberal) Democrats, called for Israel to return to its 1967 Borders, making an impossibly narrow corridor between them and the terrorists sworn to their annihilation.

With Obama’s help, Egypt–with Mubarak overthrown, the Muslim Brotherhood installed, and still receiving U.S. aid–threw its full support behind Hamas. This spawned the great Arab Spring.

Obama abstained from voting against UN Resolution 2334 declaring Israeli settlements illegal. When Iran’s nuclear program persisted amidst international fear and criticism, Obama lifted sanctions. On his way out, Obama provided Iran’s mullahs with $150 billion dollars—mullahs who time and time again have talked about nuking Israel and its Jewish people off the face of the Earth.

Led by Obama’s virulent rhetoric and the self-serving propaganda of the liberal mainstream media, American anti-Semitism swells today.

Given this context, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s recent anti-Semitic tropes about Jews and Israel shouldn’t come as a surprise. Nor should it be surprising that Democrats running for the 2020 presidential nomination–Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Beto O’Rourke–won’t be attending next week’s American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference. AIPAC is a bipartisan group whose mission is to strengthen, protect, and promote the U.S./Israeli relationship.

I have a question for my fellow Jews. Is this what you expected when you gave the Democrats your time, money, and support? Did you expect your party to support the likes of Louis Farrakhan who called Jewish-Americans, “Satanic Jews who have infected the whole world with poison and deceit.”? Did you expect your political party to support a man who proudly stated “I’m not an anti-Semite? I’m an anti-Termite.”?

There is an alternative. You don’t have to be married to a political party that embraces anti-Semitism.

President Trump withdrew from the disastrous Iran deal, moved the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem (the eternal capital of Israel), obstructed efforts at the United Nations to delegitimize Israel, accepted Israeli acts of legitimate self-defense, encouraged Arab countries to cooperate with Israel, and cut funds for the Palestinian Authority and UNRWA. After 52 years, President Trump also fully recognized Israel’s Sovereignty over the Golan Heights, an area of strategic importance to Israel’s security and Middle East stability.

President Trump is the most pro-Jewish and pro-Israeli president the United States has had, standing in stark contrast to Obama’s call to return to the 1967 armistice lines, threats to stop shipping Israel Iron Dome rockets, continual support for the Palestinians, and repeated willingness to turn his back on Israel (which greatly emboldened and fueled the rise of ISIS.)

This week the ISIS caliphate officially crumbled and the last stronghold was liberated. Defeating ISIS began with–and required–a clear, unequivocal, and strident condemnation by President Trump of Islamic terrorism coupled with an unequivocal statement that Israeli self-defense is wholly justified and in no way morally or legally equivalent to Islamic terror.

It’s been a long journey, but the true home of anti-Semitism–where it breeds and finds itself most welcome–is now the mainstream Left. Today, the anti-Semites masquerade as anti-Zionists showing their undying support for terrorist states like Iran and groups like Hamas.

Congresswoman Omar is the result of the great leftward march of anti-Semitism over many decades. American Jews must come to this realization in order to determine how history will judge them. It’s finally time for a Jewish exit from the Democrat Party.

Time is running out!
